D., F. A. C. E., F. A. C. N., F. A. C. C. W. S. Bernstein’s Amazing Story with Diabetes. Diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in 1. Dr. Bernstein never set out to be a doctor. Not only that but according to statistics from the American Diabetes Association, he should have been long dead by now. That he is very much alive and, in fact, in excellent health, can be attributed to two primary causes. The first is that he was originally trained as an engineer and attacked his disease as a problem to be solved and not a condition to be treated. Based on the recently released 2016 Journal Citation Reports, Diabetes Care and Diabetes lead the way in original diabetes research. The impact factor for Diabetes. The second is that he was fortunate enough to still to be alive when the first blood glucose meters arrived on the scene. He is the first diabetic ever to monitor his own blood sugars. These facts combined with Dr. Bernstein’s sheer determination to solve the problem of diabetes led to his revolutionary method of blood glucose normalization, which he demonstrates in the groundbreaking, perennial bestselling book, Diabetes Solution. In 1. 96. 9, after following ADA guidelines for more than twenty years, Dr. Bernstein had many of the debilitating complications of the disease. Sick and tired of being at the mercy of his disease, he obtained one of the early blood glucose meters. Hardly the cheap and common instrument it is now, the device was intended for a very small and specialized niche: To help keep hospitals from inadvertently allowing comatose diabetics to die at night when their labs were closed, because a diabetic in a coma smells of ketones and can be easily mistaken for someone who has been drinking heavily. Dr. Bernstein obtained one of the devices at the princely sum of about $7. Bernstein used himself as a guinea pig and began testing his blood glucose throughout the day, hoping to discover what made it go up and down. After considerable trial and error, not to mention research, he discovered that he could normalize his blood glucose through diet, exercise and medication—and that he could help others do the same. This was his elegant, landmark breakthrough: The only difference between a diabetic and a non- diabetic is high blood sugars. All of the complications of diabetes are caused by high blood sugars. Therefore, if you can normalize blood glucose, you can prevent the complications or make them go away, which is exactly what a cure would do. Except that when the then- engineer Richard Bernstein tried to persuade the medical community that he had found the answer, the medical community roundly ignored him—even told him that it was impossible. So, in his mid- forties, he decided the leave his successful career in business and go to medical school. Even when the first edition of his landmark Diabetes Solution came out in 1. Dr. Bernstein was still battling established notions about diabetes treatment. That’s less true today, but it’s also less important today in the era of consumer- directed healthcare plans and readily available health information on the Web. Today, many thousands of patients and readers later, Dr. Bernstein continues to see and train patients, maintains a busy schedule that includes a monthly question- and- answer teleconference, and continues to refine his cutting edge program of blood glucose normalization. He reaches more patients than he ever could have back when he first opened his practice—and slowly, too slowly perhaps, the standard of care has been changing to mirror his ideas. The simple, straightforward program that is detailed in his book Diabetes Solution, is based in good nutrition, healthy exercise, and (where necessary) small doses of medication. Bernstein will show you what he has learned during his 6. Type 1 diabetes and how, through intense research and experimentation he developed his unique but simple plan which has helped countless diabetics. Achieving normal blood sugars is not as difficult as one might believe, and he has included case studies of patients who have experienced dramatic improvements in their diabetes. Perhaps you or your loved ones may already be suffering from some complications of diabetes, such as gastroparesis, heart disease, kidney disease, retinopathy, frozen shoulder, etc. Check out Dr. Bernstein’s insights on Controlling Blood Sugars.

Recommendations are categorized as either (1) basic practices that should be adopted by all acute care hospitals or (2) special approaches that can be considered for use in locations and/or populations within hospitals when HAIs are not controlled by use of basic practices. Basic practices include recommendations where the potential to impact HAI risk clearly outweighs the potential for undesirable effects. Special approaches include recommendations where the intervention is likely to reduce HAI risk but where there is concern about the risks for undesirable outcomes, where the quality of evidence is low, or where evidence supports the impact of the intervention in select settings (eg, during outbreaks) or for select patient populations. Hospitals can prioritize their efforts by initially focusing on implementing the prevention approaches listed as basic practices. If HAI surveillance or other risk assessments suggest that there are ongoing opportunities for improvement, hospitals should then consider adopting some or all of the prevention approaches listed as special approaches. These can be implemented in specific locations or patient populations or can be implemented hospital- wide, depending on outcome data, risk assessment, and/or local requirements. Evidence is rated as high quality when there is a wide range of studies with no major limitations, there is little variation between studies, and the summary estimate has a narrow confidence interval. II. Moderate. The true effect is likely to be close to the estimated size and direction of the effect, but there is a possibility that it is substantially different. Evidence is rated as moderate quality when there are only a few studies and some have limitations but not major flaws, there is some variation between studies, or the confidence interval of the summary estimate is wide. III. Low. The true effect may be substantially different from the estimated size and direction of the effect. Evidence is rated as low quality when supporting studies have major flaws, there is important variation between studies, the confidence interval of the summary estimate is very wide, or there are no rigorous studies, only expert consensus. Encourage appropriate use of antimicrobials (quality of evidence: II). Non- CDI treatment antimicrobials. Although the quality of evidence to recommend “encourage appropriate use of antimicrobials” to prevent CDI does not meet level 1 criteria (Table 2), the CDI panel felt that appropriate antimicrobial use as a CDI prevention measure is essential to any CDI prevention program. A major risk factor for hospitalized patients to acquire C. CDI treatment antimicrobials. Assuring that patients with CDI are receiving appropriate severity- based treatment for their infection should be an additional goal for antimicrobial stewardship programs and may improve clinical outcome of CDI in these patients. In addition, monitoring for cessation of other antimicrobials when treating CDI is an important stewardship measure to reduce CDI recurrence. Use contact precautions for infected patients, single- patient room preferred (quality of evidence: III for hand hygiene, II for gloves, III for gowns, III for single- patient room). Place patients with CDI under contact precautions to help reduce patient- to- patient spread of the organism. Place patients in private rooms when available. Don gown and gloves upon entry to the patient’s room.(a) Gloves should be changed immediately if visibly soiled, after touching or handling surfaces or materials contaminated with feces, or after moving from a dirty to a clean intervention. Make dedicated patient care equipment readily available (eg, stethoscopes).(a) Use dedicated equipment whenever possible.(b) If equipment is shared between patients, do not bring the equipment into the patient room if possible (eg, glucometers).(c) Clean the piece of equipment immediately after use. Identify who will clean and how to clean each piece of shared equipment. Remove gown and gloves prior to exiting the room. Conduct CDC- or WHO- compliant hand hygiene upon exiting the patient’s room. Cohorting CDI patients is acceptable when single private rooms are not available.(a) Place patients with stool incontinence preferentially in private rooms.(b) Do not cohort patients who are discordant with other epidemiologically important organisms (eg, VRE, MRSA).(c) Remove gowns and gloves and perform hand hygiene when moving from one patient to the other. Ensure that adequate supplies for contact precautions are readily available. Management leaders are responsible to ensure that necessary barrier equipment supplies (eg, gowns, gloves), dedicated equipment, and hand hygiene products are readily available. Assign responsibility for monitoring the availability and restocking of supplies to specific HCP. Criteria for discontinuing contact precautions are as follows: i. The CDC currently recommends contact precautions for the duration of illness when caring for patients with CDI. Some experts recommend continuing contact precautions for at least 4. After resolution of symptoms, patients with CDI can continue to shed C. At this time, data do not exist to support extending isolation as a measure to decrease CDI incidence. Therefore, extending contact precautions until discharge for all patients with CDI remains a special approach.(b) Area of controversy. Asymptomatically colonized patients who have not had CDI can shed C. Ensure cleaning and disinfection of equipment and the environment (quality of evidence: III for equipment, III for environment). Furnishings in the room, such as overbed tables, bedrails, furniture, sinks, floors, commodes, and toilets. Patient care equipment that directly touches patients, such as thermometers, stethoscopes, and blood pressure cuffs. Surfaces touched by healthcare workers and/or patients, such as doorknobs and intravenous infusion pumps. Contaminated surfaces and equipment are potential reservoirs for transmission of C. Data are conflicting as to whether inactivation of spores is necessary to prevent C. Facilities should consider using a 1. Special approaches for preventing CDI” below). The solution should have a contact time that meets the manufacturers’ recommendations for C. See section 4. IV. Develop and implement protocols for disinfection of equipment and the environment. On a routine basis, assess adherence to protocols and the adequacy of cleaning and disinfection (http: //www. HAI/toolkits/Evaluating- Environmental- Cleaning. Assess the adequacy of cleaning and disinfection practices before changing to a new cleaning product (eg, bleach). If cleaning and disinfection practices are not adequate, address this before changing products (see “II. Special approaches for preventing CDI” below). Ensure patient care equipment (eg, wall- mounted sphygmomanometers) and electronic equipment (eg, computers) that remain in the patient room are cleaned and disinfected. Because of high turnover of environmental service personnel, educate environmental service personnel on proper cleaning and disinfection technique frequently. Ensure that education is provided in the native language of the environmental service personnel. Dedicate noncritical patient care items, such as blood pressure cuffs, stethoscopes, and thermometers, to a single patient with C. When this is not possible, ensure adequate cleaning and disinfection of shared items between patient encounters. Ensure that manufacturers’ recommendations for contact time of disinfectants are followed. Implement a laboratory- based alert system to provide immediate notification to IPC and clinical personnel about newly diagnosed CDI patients (quality of evidence: III). To place patients with CDI under contact precautions in a timely manner, it is important that an alert system be developed between the laboratory and both IPC and clinical personnel caring for the patient. This alert system should immediately notify IPC and clinical personnel when a patient is newly diagnosed with CDI. There are a variety of methods by which this information can be transmitted, but some options include fax alerts, phone call and pager alerts, and automated secure electronic alerts. 7/29/2017 0 Comments Detox Cleanse Juice DietA body cleanse instantly impropves your health. Raising healthy baby bearded dragons is easy as long as their needs are met. With some planning and a little reading, you can make your baby dragons life as healthy and as stress free as possible, and find it a rewarding experience. The care plan below is what we basically follow, with great success. Following the care plan below, we have consistently raised groups of dragons to 1. We have found during the first 4 months, the average growth rate to be approximately . Bearded Dragon hatchlings should be raised in a small enclosure for optimal growth. This way they do not have far to look for their food, as crickets tend to stay away from bright spots - and that is where your dragon will spend most of its daylight time. Use a 4. 0 or 6. 0- watt spotlight at one end above a basking rock (Not a heat rock, just a plain rock). The height of the rock or the wattage of the bulb will need to be adjusted to get the surface basking spot to a 1. Set a temperature gauge on the highest part of the rock for an hour and check the temperature. This will provide the baby bearded dragons with a suitable environment to allow them to regulate their body temperature. Nighttime temperatures can safely drop into the sixties. Once a week we give all our dragons a day of rest, which consists of shutting of all lights and no heat or food for the day. The dragons receive light feedings the prior day before shutdown. For optimal growth, the lights should be left on for 1. Ideally a full spectrum UVB light Repti. Sun or Repti- Glo fluorescent tube bulb should be suspended over the cage. If this bulb is too far from the basking area, the UVB will dissipate before reaching the dragon. Although bearded dragons have been raised successfully without UVB producing bulbs, we would recommend using them. The substrate can be play sand or newspaper. Failure to do so could result in death due to a blockage caused by the ingestion of the pebbles. The cage should be simple for the first 4 months or so. There should be no hide spot for they will burrow when needed. There should also be limited decorative items in the cage to prevent the crickets from hiding. And at NO TIME should there be green decorative leaves in the cage - Your dragon will try to eat them. Bearded dragons require a dry cage, but need a range of 3. Keeping dragons consistently below 3. The hatchlings should be sprayed once daily on their heads, keeping the spray directed onto their heads as long as they keep lapping up the water. If they don. This simulates the natural way dragons get water by licking up drops of dew they find on plants in the morning. Some do learn to drink from a shallow water dish. If using a water dish, the water MUST be changed daily and immediately if the dish has been defecated in. Dragons vary on their water intake; some drink daily, others may not drink for days or weeks if they are aggressive feeders and getting the needed moisture through their diet. Humidity in the cage also plays a significant role in how much water they may drink. Bowel movements must be removed daily. If keeping more than one dragon in a cage, 'Scooping poop' must be more frequent to keep up on the cleanliness of the cage. The Top 10 Foods for Your Bearded Dragon’s Diet. Bearded dragons that are over 12 months old should have a diet that consists of 80 percent fruits and veggies. Discover all the bearded dragon facts and information you need to know. Learn about their diet, habitat, health, and more. Dachiu Bearded Dragons Robert. We have found during the first 4 months. Vegetables are an important part of a bearded dragon’s diet and should be offered. The hatchlings should be fed at least 2- 3 times a day for optimal growth. Feed the babies 1- 2 hours after the lights have come on to give them a chance to warm up. The last feeding of the day should be a couple of hours before the lights go off to give the dragons time to digest their meal. Start with 2- 5 crickets per dragon for the first feeding. Excess crickets in the cage, crawling all over the dragon can stress them out. Remove any uneaten crickets before the lights go out at night. Babies should be fed 1/4- 3/8 inch crickets up to approximately 2 months of age, as too big of a prey item can kill a baby dragon. A good rule of thumb is the prey item should be no longer then the width of the dragon. Babies can be fed one feeding daily of 1/2 inch mini meal worms. They will have to be mail ordered, as pet shops do not usually carry mini meal worms (Tenebrioobscurus). Not to be confused with the standard meal worm (Tenebriomolitor). Bearded dragon diet and bearded dragon feeding, food. Bearded Dragons. Home; Care Sheet; Caging & Accessories;. Bearded Dragon Diet & Feeding. Dubia roaches of appropriate size are excellent feeders as well. As the size of the dragon increases, so should its prey. Vegetables are an important part of a bearded dragon. Arrange the dish filled with vegetables within the dragons view from his basking spot. You should stick with leafy greens, such as collard greens, mustard greens, dandelion greens, turnip greens, chicory, chard, escarole, and endive - alternating when possible. Remove any hard veins. Do not feed your bearded dragon iceberg lettuce as this can give them 'the runs' and dehydrate them. Just a few of the foods you can supplement with as your dragon grows are, radish tops, broccoli flowers, parsley, shredded carrots, bell peppers, kale, peas, and red cabbage. Please check the USDA Data Base for exact nutrient content of any given fruit/veggie in question.. Supplementation should consist of dusting the crickets every third to fourth feeding with a phosphorous free calcium powder, like Rep. Cal with D3. A good vitamin supplement such as Herptivite should be used only once a week. Failure to use the calcium regularly and overuse of the vitamins can both cause problems. If not using a UVB bulb, you must be faithful in giving the proper calcium/D3 supplements to prevent possible health problems; namely MBD. To dust crickets - put them in a sandwich bag.. To Gut Load your crickets - We use Hi- Cal Cricket Monster Diet as a dry staple food.. We also offer various greens, carrots and butternut squash to our crickets for moisture. Florida Woman Lets Snake Bite Her 1 Year Old Child To Teach Her A Lesson. This means fed well and cleaned. It is VERY IMPORTANT to keep your hatchlings environment as stress- free as possible for the first few months. Here are a few tips on reducing the stress for your beardie. Keep it simple for the first few months.- Make sure their cage is not placed in overly noisy area. The stress from transporting and inspecting its new environment may put eating on the 'back burner' for a day or so. After 3- 4 hours of allowing your dragon to adjust to its new home, offer it a few crickets and some chopped greens on a shallow lid. Avoid trying to hand feed until the dragon is eating well for a few weeks and has adjusted to its new environment. If your dragon does not eat the few crickets by the end of the first day, remove the crickets and offer them some water. Try covering the sides of the dragon. The next day, wait until mid- day to offer it crickets again. Hopefully, by not seeing any food items for a 1/2 day and becoming more comfortable in their new home, this will stimulate their appetite. If your dragon does not eat by the end of the second day, offer it water again and please give us a call. These should be avoided.*Pebbles - If using sand, you MUST sift it through a screen to remove any of the larger pebbles.*Too large of a prey item - Appropriate sized meal worms and crickets are a must for hatchlings. Crickets should be NO LONGER than the width of their mouth. And if using meal worms - mini or small should be used. Weight gain during pregnancy . Learn why crunches are better then sit ups. A special note about exercise equipment: I believe you can get a flat stomach and great abs without buying any exercise machines. Some of them don't work and most of them aren't more effective then the regular crunch. I wrote an article on why you do not need any special exercise equipment to get a flat stomach. If you still wish to get a machine to help you at least get something that works. Want more abdominal training exercises to add to your abs workout? Good Exercises to Get Rid of Belly Fat & Love Handles. You might expect crunches, twists and side bends to be among the most effective exercises for reducing belly fat and love handles. These moves would seem to directly target those areas to whittle excess pudge away. Fat loss, however, is a complex process that only happens when you stimulate the right hormones and consume fewer calories than you burn. While exercises that target your torso build stability and tone the muscles in this region, they won't help you get rid of the spare tire covering up the muscles and spilling over your waistband. High- intensity cardio and resistance training are your best calorie- burners to lose belly fat and love handles. Fat that increases the circumference of your waistband and forms the pinchable handles at the sides of your torso is both subcutaneous, sitting just under the skin, and visceral, embedded deep in your belly and surrounding the internal organs. While you may not like the looks of those love handles and soft muffin top, this fat is less dangerous to your health than the firm, deep visceral fat, which acts like an endocrine organ and expels inflammatory compounds into your system. Visceral fat is of concern because it raises your risk of diseases, including type 2 diabetes, heart disease and some cancers. Soft fat is usually subcutaneous, and less of a health risk than firm visceral fat. It helps you burn more calories every day and builds muscle, which further boosts your metabolism. When you start an exercise program, the first fat you lose is visceral fat. Your waist size will shrink and you'll look slimmer. Your love handles, which are made up of subcutaneous fat, will shrink as well, but may hang on a bit longer; subcutaneous abdominal fat can sometimes be some of the last fat you lose. Don't give up though — you will lose it if you stick with a healthy, portion- controlled diet and a regular exercise regimen that includes cardio and strength. Eat moderate portions of mostly unprocessed foods. Limit your intake of sugar, especially sugary drinks, refined grains and saturated fats to support your exercise efforts to slim your middle. Aim to fit in a minimum of 3. Once you've reached that level, increase the duration to last an hour on most days. As your stamina improves, add in high- intensity intervals to boost fat loss — especially at your abdomen. A paper published in the Journal of Obesity in 2. Examples of HIIT workouts include alternfiveting 3. Always warm up for five to 1. HIIT, section of your workout. Conclude each workout with a cool down too to promote muscle recovery and prevent venous pooling. Strength- training classes offer tips on form. To lose belly fat, undertake a comprehensive resistance program that has you challenging all the major muscle groups with resistance at least twice per week. Resistance training mobilizes visceral and subcutaneous fat in the abdominal region, determined another review of recent research published in the Journal of Obesity in 2. Such workouts may not make you lose a lot of weight on the scale, but it changes the distribution of that weight for the better — building calorie- burning muscle and helping you lose inflammatory fat. Stick to moderate weights and just one set of eight to 1. A fitness professional can help with form and program design. Over time, build up to as many as three sets of an exercise for each major muscle group. Squats, chest presses, deadlifts, lunges, rows and dips are examples of challenging moves that address several muscle groups at once, potentially enhancing your results. Keep doing abdominal moves, including planks and crunches, but don't rely on them exclusively for strength or belly fat loss. You'll fit both types of workouts in with minimal time commitment and maximum results. Read more: 1. 3 Benefits of Weightlifting That No One Tells You About. How to Start a Weight Loss or Food Blog. I recently quit my full- time cushy state job to pursue my new career as a FULL – TIME PROFESSIONAL BLOGGER. Read all about that here. It takes a ton of work but it can be done. Dreams do come true is you are willing to work for hard for them! I encourage everyone to start a blog even if you are not interested in making money from it – although it is good to know that as your blog grows making a extra cash is an option. Starting a blog is a great way to hold yourself accountable, build your knowledge, and document your progress. I love blogging and I know you will too! Steps to Starting a Blog. A lot of people drag their feet with starting a blog because the technical aspect makes them nervous. I understand it can get a little nerve racking if you are not sure what to do. Let me try and demystify it for you with 4 easy steps. Organize Yourself Skinny is a healthy lifestyle and food blog. Regardless of the topic (food, weight loss, design, your pet turtle) you want to write about these are the 4 basic steps all bloggers take when starting their blog. Also, please keep in mind there are many products and services out there but the ones I mention below are what I have or currently use with my blog and what I have the most experience with. Okay let’s get you bloggin. Domain name. Your domain name is kind of like your address on the web. It is what people type in to get to your blog. For example my domain name is www. Picking out your domain name is fun but it can get a little stressful. Take some time to think about your domain name because once it is purchased and you start writing on your blog it will be difficult to change. People will start to know you as your blog name so you don’t want to switch it up and confuse everyone. On the flip side don’t spend a ton of time thinking of the perfect name because really it comes down to the information you share. Here are some of my suggestions to help you with the domain name process: Keep it relatively short and easy to remember. Try to get a . com. Don’t use dashes or other symbols. Don’t dwell on the perfect name because at the end of the day your content and bubbly personality is what will bring people back. Once you have it pick out then check to make sure it is available. This can be done by typing the name into the domain search engine at Bluehost. If it is available, and your are ready, then purchase it. There are 1. 00. 0s of blogs and websites starting everyday so try to purchase the domain name you want as soon as you can because if you wait it could be gone when you want it – don’t ask me how I know. Note: If you are going to go with a free blog platform (mentioned below) you don’t necessarily need a domain name although I HIGHLY recommend still getting one because you never know. Domain names are inexpensive and it is better to get one right from the start then wait and have it not be available – again, don’t ask me how I know. Hosting. Self Hosted Blog. Self- hosted means you rent out the space on web where your blog sits. Besides giving you complete ownership over your blog and all of it’s content self- hosted gives you much more options as your blog grows. Organize Yourself Skinny is a self- hosted blog. I started out with Bluehost and was very happy with them. However, once my traffic started to significantly increase I had to switch to Synthesis Hosting which is a virtual private server. Going the virtual private server route is more expensive so I reccommend starting with blue host then moving to Synthesis down the road if you need to. Bluehost is a very popular hosting company and used by many bloggers. Installing Word. Press. Word. Press is the blogging software or content management system that makes it possible to write on your blog. It is what I use for Organize Yourself Skinny. There are others but I have only used Word. Press. It is very easy to use and provides tons of options for functionality. If you host your blog with Bluehost then you will have no trouble installing Word. Press because they make it a cinch to get up and running very quickly. In fact, I think when I first started Organize Yourself Skinny I had it up and running in less than 1. Here is a video from bluehost that walks you through the process. Design. Now the fun part starts! It is time to design your blog! Word. Press comes with a bunch of free themes that are easy to download and use. However, I HIGHLY recommend purchasing the Genesis Framework and a Studio. Press Premium Theme. They are reasonably priced and in my opinion the best!! If you are confused by what the difference is between the framework and theme, don’t be. The Genesis framework is like the vehicle for your blog basically it what keeps it functioning and moving forward. The theme is the paint job for your vehicle — basically it what makes your blog pretty. You can read all about both here. Or you can click here to download The Genesis Guide for Absolute Beginners (PDF – 1. MB)Organize Yourself Skinny runs on the Genesis Framework and when I first started out I used the Prose theme. Recently, I had the Studio. Press theme Innov. If you are unsure or want more control over colors, fonts, etc then I highly reccomend starting with the Prose theme. It comes out of the box a clean slate then you add all your colors on the back end. If you would rather have it turn key out of the box then go with one of there other themes. They have so many gorgeous themes to pick from. Some favorite studiopress themes among women bloggers are: Inspired Theme. Adorable Theme. Decor Theme. Cre. 8tive Burst Theme. Modern Blogger Theme. How I Make Money Blogging. I wrote an entire post about how I quit my cushy state job to pursue my dream working as a full- time blogger. Read it here. I also highly recommend Kiersten Frase ebook How to Monetize Food Blog. This ebook is amazing! Kiersten talks about all the different revenue streams and how to make money from them. She is very detailed! I think if you are just starting out or even have been at this blogging thing for a while you will find her information very helpful. The second resource that played a pivotal role in taking my blog to the next level was Food Blogger Pro. This website is filled with video tutorials that walk you through every step of blogging. Lindsay and Bjork the owners are awesome too! They have been so helpful to me in building my blog. Thanks guys! Starting a blog has been such a wonderful experience for me. I hope you find this information helpful should you decide to start one of your own. Please note some of the links in this post are affiliate links. Bride. By Dr. Natasha Campbell- Mc. Bride is a formally trained Russian neurologist whose child developed autism. As a result of her own research into autism, she ended up developing what might be one of the most profoundly important treatment strategies not just for autism, but for a wide range of neurological- , psychological- , and autoimmune disorders as well. I believe her Gut and Psychology Syndrome, and Gut and Physiology Syndrome (GAPS) Nutritional program is vitally important for MOST people, as the majority of people have such poor gut health due to poor diet and toxic exposures. We've previously discussed how the GAPS program can help those with autism and other neurological- and psychiatric disorders, such as: Dyslexia and dyspraxia Depression Obsessive- compulsive disorder Bipolar disorder Epilepsy What is Gut and Physiology Syndrome? In this interview, we discuss how your gut affects your immune system, as there's profound dynamic interaction between them. Mc. Bride covers the problems related to Gut and Psychology Syndrome in her first book by the same name. Her next book will cover Gut and Physiology Syndrome, which relates to diseases that are not located in the nervous system but rather elsewhere in your body, such as: Arthritis Asthma and allergies Skin problems Kidney problems Digestive issues, and Autoimmune disorders Abnormalities in your immune system are a common outcome of GAPS, and such immune abnormalities are at the root of virtually all degenerative diseases.? It's because about 8. Your gut, your digestive wall, is the biggest and the most important immune organ in your body.
There is a very tight conversation and a relationship going on between the gut flora that lives inside your digestive system, and your immune system.. Your gut flora—the state of the gut flora and the composition of microbes in your gut flora—has a profound effect on what forms of immune cells you will be producing on any given day, what they're going to be doing, and how balanced your immune system is. Th. 1 is kept robust and healthy by your gut flora. As long as your gut flora is normal, you will have no adverse symptoms when exposed to these types of environmental influences, but if your gut flora is abnormal, your Th. Th. 2 immunity is designed to address immune functions inside your body, and is not equipped to handle environmental influences. However, it will try to compensate if your Th. Unfortunately, since it's not properly equipped for this job, it ends up dealing with environmental influences like pollen and foods in an inappropriate way; the end result of which is allergies and intolerances. It's important to realize that food allergies and intolerances are a very different group of allergies from the more acute anaphylactic allergies. Food intolerances caused by disabled Th. Food intolerances can also manifest hours, days, or even weeks later, making identifying food allergies very difficult. For example, on any given day you can be reacting to broccoli that you have just had for lunch, and to lamb that you've eaten yesterday, and to egg that you've eaten two days ago, and to a piece of bread that you've eaten 1. All of these reactions overlap on top of each other. On any given day, you have no idea what exactly you're reacting to. Mc. Bride explains. Making matters even more difficult, these food allergies and intolerances can result in all sorts of reactions, from headache, to sneezing, to rashes, or abdominal pains or swollen joints. Or they may result in psoriasis, or cause eczema to flare up. Any kind of symptom can be brought up by food allergies and intolerances. Natasha Campbell-McBride discusses how the Gut and Psychology Syndrome or GAPS program can help treat autism, multiple sclerosis, and autoimmune diseases. Tullio Simoncini is a surgeon specializing in oncology, diabetology, and in metabolic disorders. Simoncini discovered that the cause of this terrible illness. Craig and The Healers organization’s mission is to expand medical research and wellness education beyond the limits of traditional practices. The Healers. Quotes by Dr. Tullio Simoncini: Treat cancer as a fungal overgrowth; When you kill the fungus, you kill the cancer; The fungus was already there It did not. Mc. Bride says. At the same time, because your gut flora is abnormal, your gut lining begins to deteriorate, since it is actively maintained by our gut flora. Mc. Bride explains. When the immune system and the bloodstream finds them and looks at them, it doesn't recognize them as food. I don't recognize you. It creates immune complexes, which attack these partially digested proteins. As a result, we'll get all sorts of symptoms in your body.? Rather you need to focus on healing your gut lining, because this is the most likely root of your problem. This will also be your most cost- effective strategy, as allergy testing can be quite expensive. Mc. Bride says. The majority of practitioners who are experienced in this area give up on testing.. They recommend focusing on healing and sealing your gut lining instead. Then these food allergies and intolerances will disappear, and you will be able to eventually start eating foods that you could not tolerate before. Conventional medicine has identified about 2. Mc. Bride says. Why is that? Because 8. 5 percent of your immune system is located in your digestive wall, in your gut wall, and the state of your gut flora has a direct and very profound effect on the way your immune system functions. Your immune system is a very hungry organ. It needs to be continuously fed.. People with abnormal gut flora – GAPS people – do not digest and absorb their food properly, so they develop multiple nutritional deficiencies; their immune system is starving.. At the same time, a river of toxicity is flowing from the gut into the bloodstream of these people, because all those pathogenic microbes sitting in their gut flora are converting the food that comes along into hundreds and hundreds of very toxic substances. The immune system gets quite a lot of this toxicity, so.. Of course, it cannot function properly. Of course, it cannot react appropriately to various things. Autoimmunity is the result of that. Some of them have affinities for certain proteins, and will attach themselves to them. When that happens, it changes the three- dimensional shape of that protein molecule. When your immune system comes across this foreign- looking protein, it will attack it and begin producing antibodies against it. We have researched that quite a lot. Mc. Bride says. These toxic metals target your brain and your nerves. But when they get accumulated in those high- fat tissues, these toxins attach themselves to proteins in your myelin, in the white matter of your brain, and other parts of your nervous system. Once they've accumulated, once they've attached themselves to those proteins, they change their three- dimensional structure. Then the immune system develops an antibody against your protein and your myelin. That is the number one antibody, which is at work in multiple sclerosis. It is called a myelin- specific protein antibody. It's an antibody which attacks proteins in your myelin.. What the immune system is trying to do is it's trying to clear out mercury, lead, and other toxic metals out of the nervous system, which got stored in there. Where do they come from? They're actually our allies. They're our helpers. Your body employs them when it needs them. Mc. Bride explains. If you got a cold, that virus (many viruses target your nervous system) will go directly to those toxic patches in your brain and your nervous system and attack them. It will start gobbling it up.. Of course, your immune system then joins in, trying to attack the virus. It joins in with inflammation, and you . You will get tingling. You will get numbness in your face or in your extremities. You might start wetting your bed, or you might get peripheral loss of vision for a while.. That's one of the first symptoms in multiple sclerosis. Your nerves will recover naturally. Typically, as soon as people get tingling, numbness, and other symptoms, they rush to the doctor, who will immediately put them on some form of medication, which will typically have a dampening effect on the immune system. As a result, the viruses spread and become even more established, and the disease becomes chronic and permanent. You have Natural Antibodies Against Virtually All Autoimmune Diseases.. Mc. Bride says. It all begins in utero. Autoimmune conditions develop when your immune system attacks particular tissues or proteins in your body because they've been contaminated by toxins or some other environmental influence. And remember, this imbalance, this toxic influence, originates from your digestive system or gut wall. That's where it comes from – your gut wall. Mc. Bride says. In order to heal any autoimmune condition – whether it's multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, lupus, alopecia, psoriasis, or anything else that has got an autoimmune component – you have to focus on healing and sealing your gut lining with the GAPS Nutritional Protocol. And you have to focus on.. You have to drive out the pathogens from the gut flora and replace them with the beneficial flora. Then a lot of healing will happen..' Unfortunately, conventional medicine is largely ignorant about this research, and does not view autoimmune disorders as digestive disorders, which Dr. Mc. Bride is convinced is the case. The Importance of Fermented Foods. Did you know the number of bacteria in your body outnumber your cells by about 1. These bacteria in turn are comprised of both beneficial ones and harmful ones. The ideal balance is about 8. Maintaining this ideal ratio is what it's all about when we're talking about the importance of probiotics. It's important to understand though that probiotics are not a new concept. The only thing that's new is that you can take them in pill form. But historically, mankind has consumed large amounts of probiotics in the form of fermented and cultured foods, which were invented long before the advent of refrigeration and other forms of food preservation. They fermented everything. You can ferment dairy, grains, beans, vegetables, fruits, meats, and fish. Everything can be fermented, and there were fermented beverages in every culture. When the cabbages were ripe in September, you made it a fermented cabbage. Perhaps for a month or two, you were eating fresh cabbage, but then for the rest of the year, 1. Quite a large percent of all the foods that people consume on a daily basis were fermented. Holistic Cancer Research - Dr. Coldwell: All Cancer can be Cured in Less Than 1. Weeks. FDA Disclaimer. Dr. Leonard Coldwell: ALL Cancer Can Be Cured in Less Than 1. Weeks Please note: Any information presented in this article is for educational research ONLY. This particular article and author is not making any recommendations and is not giving any personal medical advice in the following material. Leonard Coldwell claimed that 'all cancer' along with 'all other kinds of immune diseases' are based on emotional and mental stress and can be cured in less than 1. Coldwell names several cancer- curing treatments that are being suppressed by the medical and pharmaceutical industry, including sodium bicarbonate, apricot kernels, oxygen therapy, rife machines and colloidal silver. If you are wondering why there is no “official” cure for cancer, then try tracing the revenue cancer takes in each year. Cancer is a $6. 0 billion a year industry, while cancer protection and the early intervention of cancer brings in an additional $1. When you investigate the roots of the medical and pharmaceutical industries, you will find the name of John D. Rockefeller. Coldwell stated, “The medical curriculum was created by John D. Rockefeller over 1. The only cause for any kind of disease is the lack of energy and that’s mainly caused by physical or emotional stress.”“As nature creates a problem, nature creates a solution.’Dr. Leonard Coldwell Dr. Coldwell added that the medical industry owns the media and partially owns the health insurance industry, as they both work together, hand- in- hand. In the early 1. 90. Nobel award winners Otto Warburg and Max Planck proved that cancer can only exist in an oxygen- lacking, acidic environment. Trivia: Max Planck is considered by many to be the founding father of quantum theory. Typically, a normal p. H value is 7 for most people. Coldwell stated a case where an oncologist physician in Italy, Dr Tullio Simoncini (pictured left) has cured all types of cancer with pharmaceutical grade sodium bicarbonate (baking soda). Simoncini’s research concluded that the medical profession only has a 2% cancer cure rate. Dr Coldwell believes that radiation and chemotherapy cause cancer, while surgery spreads the cancer “like an explosion through the entire body.” Dr. Coldwell added, “Cancer is your friend; cancer is there to save your life.”. Leonard Coldwell The causes of cancer, according to Dr. Coldwell’s research include, living in constant worries, doubts and fears, lack of self- love, Lack of self- respect, lack of hope, lack of hope for the future and the biggest reason, making a constant compromise against yourself.“That is why when you live in a relationship that you know is toxic and it’s killing you, you need to get out of it or it will literally kill you,” stated Dr. Coldwell: 8. 6% of all doctor visits and illness, statistically, are all based on stress or are stress related. Stanford University study: 9. The medical profession is the #1 cause of death in the Western so- called civilized world. In the last 2. 0 years, nobody has died of cancer, they have all died from the side effects of the treatment. Cancer is the biggest money maker in history for the pharmaceutical industry. There are over 3. The medical profession has a cancer cure rate of 2%. The only cause for illness is lack of energy. The main cause for lack of energy is physical and emotional stress. Bad relationships are the main cause of cancer. Coldwell suggested talking to a naturopathic physician before going to a medical doctor for any medical issue. Coldwell’s suggestions was to combine 5 spoons of organic maple syrup with 1 teaspoon of sodium bicarbonate, warm it up to make into one mass, and eat it like a candy 3- 4x each day. Coldwell, “The cancer cells looks for syrup. You basically get a Trojan horse going into the system. Coldwell is to add . In California, a man was jailed for “curing” cancer with apricot kernels: Another holistic cancer product you can research is MMS. Jim Humble, founder of the MMS treatment stated “If you take S drops of activated MMS, every hour for 8 hours for 3 days, your HIV or AIDS will be gone.” Humble added, “Everybody that had cancer, it was gone within three weeks. Coldwell is a big fan of juicing and recommends an equal mixture of apple, celery and carrot juice, adding that it may initially give diarrhea. Many internet websites rank the Breville BJE5. XL as the top rated juicer. He also stated that people should research their issues as much as possible, and to study alternative options such as colloidal silver, raw food diet, apricot kernels and sodium bicarbonate, adding that one should try the natural remedies first. Through my own research, I have found that Amazon has the best prices in holistic products shown below, but feel free to do your own research.
